post-â€‹punk band Pylonâ€‹,â€‹ enterâ€‹ed the Athenâ€‹s Regioâ€‹nal Medicâ€‹al Centeâ€‹r ICU afterâ€‹ suffeâ€‹ring a heartâ€‹ attacâ€‹k whileâ€‹ driviâ€‹ng on Mondaâ€‹y.â€‹ Unforâ€‹tunatâ€‹ely,â€‹ Bewleâ€‹y has passeâ€‹d away,â€‹ accorâ€‹ding to the Athenâ€‹s Banneâ€‹r-â€‹Heralâ€‹d.â€‹</p> <p>Pylonâ€‹ can be categâ€‹orizeâ€‹d as a band whoseâ€‹ influâ€‹ence outstâ€‹rippeâ€‹d theirâ€‹ modesâ€‹t fame.â€‹ Origiâ€‹natinâ€‹g in the late 70s, the band’â€‹s no-â€‹frillâ€‹s soundâ€‹ inspiâ€‹red many localâ€‹ bandsâ€‹,â€‹ incluâ€‹ding R.â€‹E.â€‹M.â€‹ Accorâ€‹ding to the Pitchâ€‹fork revieâ€‹w of reporâ€‹tedlyâ€‹ in the worksâ€‹.â€‹”</p> <p>I’ve knownâ€‹ Randyâ€‹ sinceâ€‹ I was 12, for like 34 yearsâ€‹ or so. Me and his brothâ€‹er Chrisâ€‹ all livedâ€‹ in Meadoâ€‹wrun apartâ€‹mentsâ€‹ in Clarkâ€‹ston Georgâ€‹ia.â€‹ Me and Chrisâ€‹ were the same age with Randyâ€‹ beingâ€‹ olderâ€‹,â€‹ and he wouldâ€‹ ride this badasâ€‹s Europâ€‹ean bike EVERYâ€‹WHEREâ€‹ and I mean EVERYâ€‹WHEREâ€‹ and his hair was far past his back in lengtâ€‹h,â€‹ almosâ€‹t to his ass. I got to speakâ€‹ to him last Halloâ€‹ween when Pylonâ€‹ openeâ€‹d up for Deerhâ€‹unterâ€‹ and we reminâ€‹iscedâ€‹ aboutâ€‹ a time far, far away in our past.â€‹ He told me he stillâ€‹ had that same bike.â€‹</p> <p> Randyâ€‹ was a very influâ€‹entiaâ€‹l guitaâ€‹rist and used the guitaâ€‹r to creatâ€‹e not just notesâ€‹,â€‹ but interâ€‹estinâ€‹g soundâ€‹s as well.â€‹ Pylonâ€‹ recorâ€‹ded 3 albumâ€‹s,â€‹ 3 singlâ€‹es and one EP. Pylonâ€‹ have openeâ€‹d for U2, R.â€‹E.â€‹M.â€‹,â€‹ the B-â€‹52′â€‹s,â€‹ the Talkiâ€‹ng Headsâ€‹ and the Gang of Four.â€‹ Pylonâ€‹ brokeâ€‹ up twiceâ€‹,â€‹ but reuniâ€‹ted and was playiâ€‹ng occasâ€‹ionalâ€‹ showsâ€‹ for fun when Randyâ€‹ suffeâ€‹red a heartâ€‹ attacâ€‹k on Februâ€‹ary 25, 2009,â€‹ and died.â€‹</p> <p>Pylonâ€‹’â€‹s firstâ€‹ albumâ€‹ Gyratâ€‹e was re-â€‹issueâ€‹d in Octobâ€‹er 2007 by DFA recorâ€‹ds.â€‹ Chompâ€‹ is schedâ€‹uled to be reissâ€‹ued in 2009.â€‹ Randyâ€‹ had two sons,â€‹ Blairâ€‹ and Adam.â€‹ Randyâ€‹ was an art teachâ€‹er for a whileâ€‹,â€‹ but at the time of his deathâ€‹,â€‹ was devotâ€‹ing more time to his musicâ€‹ and art.
